Nails for You
Nails For You Academy

Learn the craft.
Get licensed in Virginia.

The school side of a salon that's been at it since 1988. Hands-on training toward the hours you need for your Virginia nail-technician license — taught in small groups, at a working salon, by someone who's done this for decades.

Hands-on nail technician training
Your instructor

Taught by Gene Nguyen a nail educator, not a side gig.

Gene (Binh) Nguyen owns Nails For You and has spent decades at the table — and just as long teaching others to do it well. He's known in the area as a nail-industry educator, and the Academy is where he passes the craft on directly.

You won't learn from a video here. You'll learn beside someone who has finished tens of thousands of sets and still cares how each one turns out.

How it works

Four steps, at your pace.

Enrollment is small-group and by email for now — first come, first served for each session.

  1. 01

    Reach out by email

Tell us a little about yourself and your goals. We'll send back details on the next session, current openings, and required hours.

  2. 02

    Train hands-on, in small groups

Bench time on real technique — prep, application, shaping, gel, acrylic, SNS, and sanitation — in a group small enough for one-on-one attention.

  3. 03

    Log your Virginia hours

The program is built around the hands-on hours you need on the path to your Virginia nail-technician license.

  4. 04

    Head toward your license

Finish ready for the next step — with real skills, real reps, and a mentor you can keep asking.

What you'll cover

The real skills, on real hands.

A working curriculum drawn from what a Falls Church salon actually does every day — not just what's on the exam.

  • Nail anatomy, prep, and sanitation
  • Manicure & pedicure technique
  • Gel application and finishing
  • Acrylic full sets and refills
  • SNS / dip system
  • Pink & White and ombré
  • Shaping — almond, coffin, and more
  • Working cleanly and safely with clients

Exact hours, schedule, and tuition vary by session — email us for the current details.
